Aims and Objectives
The Surrey Agricultural
Association (founded in 1892) joined in 1954 with the Redhill Agricultural
Society (founded in 1862) to form the Surrey County Agricultural Society.
The objects of the Society are:
The encouragement of
agriculture and agricultural employees in their various crafts and to
promote good farming. This is put into practice by the organisation of
annual Farms and Herds Competitions, a Ploughing Match, Agricultural
Machinery Demonstrations and Long Service Awards.
The advancement of the breeding and rearing of livestock and horses and
to maintain the public's interest in the Agricultural Industry generally
within the County. The annual Surrey County Show is held with these
objects in mind.
To fulfil these objects successfully, the Society must have the support
of a large membership.
The Society is a Company Limited
by Guarantee No 1855780 in England and registered as a National Charity No
213475.
