to the
Surrey County
Show |
 |
Mar 31, 2010
Chat to a Household Cavalryman
at Surrey County Show on May 31 and find out how to combine a career with
horses and heavy armour in the modern military world.
The British Army will have a
major presence at Stoke Park this year, showcasing its career opportunities
that still provide a way of life that is second to none – packed with
challenges, rewards and opportunities combined with good pay, pension and
allowances, travel opportunities, recognised qualifications and camaraderie.
During a recession, the 140
trades and over 10,000 jobs available in Combat, Engineering, Logistics &
Support, Intelligence, IT & Communications, HR & Finance, Medical and Music
& ceremonial, can make a huge difference.
The Army Careers Information Office (Woking)
will be providing expert advice for all these career opportunities both for
Regular and Territorial troops. The recruiting trailer contains literature,
video career demonstrations and free gifts.
The Merrow Army Cadets will be there to
advise any youngsters who want to join the cadets. The Diversity Action
Recruitment Team will also be on site to advise anyone wanting skilled
advice on Diversity and Equality in the Army. Visitors can enjoy a taste of
Army excitement with Laser Target Shooting and the Inflatable Assault
Course.
The Surrey County Show is proud to support Help for Heroes
- Practical, Direct Support For our Wounded.
The charity will be manning a shop raising funds for soldiers wounded in
Afghanistan.
It is about the
blokes, our men and women of the Armed Forces. It's about Derek, a rugby
player who has lost both his legs, it's about Carl whose jaw is wired up so
he has been drinking through a straw. It's about Richard who was handed a
mobile phone as he lay on the stretcher so he could say goodbye to his wife.
It's about Ben, it's about Steven and Andy and Mark, and it’s about them
all. They are just blokes but they are our blokes; they are our heroes.
Surrey County Show wants to help our heroes.
