Surrey Farm and Village Week 2008 coincides with the end of the national Year of Food and Farming so the message is loud and clear: Come on down to the farm, celebrate the fantastic food grown there and see how farming creates and sustains the beautiful landscape of the Surrey Hills.
Over the week, a number of farmers right across the county invite the general public on to their farms for guided walks to show happy healthy livestock and countryside teeming with birds and wildlife thanks to good landscape management and environmental conservation.
The finale of Surrey Farm and Village Week is the Surrey Country Fair and Ploughing Match on September 28th at Loseley Park outside Guildford. This brilliant rural family day out in stunning surroundings has a wonderful atmosphere and with lots of local food to try, it also makes a great start to British Food Fortnight.
Tickets are £7.50 for adults, £6 for concessions and £4.50 for
