September 26th 2010
9am 5pm (Ploughing 9am 1.30pm)
Dogs welcome on leads.
This very special show takes place in front of the lovely stately home at Loseley Park, between Godalming and Guildford, at the end of Surrey Farm and Food Week. With a lovely Relaxed atmosphere, it draws crowds of around 10,000 for a fantastic country day out for the whole Family.
This year the show will feature a new section: Gun Dog Trials which can be entered on the day of the show, Phil Gibbons and his racing lurchers and hawk, together with Daphne Neville and her otters, Bertie, Belinda and Rudi. These lovely rare creatures were born in captivity and are full of adventure and mischief.
For youngsters who love action, the show provides fantastic introductions to country pursuits, from Clay Shooting to 4x4 Handling, from Fly Fishing to Tractor Driving. The day includes: Ploughing Competitions, Punch and Judy, Train Rides, Terrier Racing, Dog Agility, Sheepdogs, Vintage Tractor and Steam displays and classic cars – plus plenty of crafts, food and shopping.
This is very much a show for dog lovers too. Amy Hatcher will demonstrate how to train and work sheepdogs, there will be gun dog training, obedience coaching, displays of hounds and a chance for your dog to have a go at Dog Agility.
Countryside organisations such as Surrey Wildlife Trust will be represented at the show.
Tickets on the show day are £8.50 for adults, £7.00 for concessions and £5.00 for children (5 - 16 years). Under fives are free and there is free parking. A family ticket is available (2 adults, 2 children) £25.
Discounted advance tickets are available from the Surrey County Agricultural Society office, 8 Birtley Courtyard, Bramley, GU5 0LA, telephone no: 01483 890810 or online (click here) Tickets will be available from July.
